Making it Happen
By Ugandan standards, construction at Kabirizi was completed amazingly quickly. Not just bungalow houses, but an office/administration block, staff accommodation, multi-use chapel, classrooms, and drop toilets too. A water tower was built for storage and mains pressure, with underground tanks as backup, and trees were planted for shade.
Getting NOTDEC Off the Ground
Bungalows B1-B4 under construction in MAY 2009 and fully completed by the end of JULY (2009!)
When building bungalows B1-B4 all at the same time, an 18-man team was used to ensure rapid progress. Later, bungalows were built singly by a much smaller team.
