Sponsor a Child

If you are interested in sponsoring a child, this page is for you.  It’s also great for regular donations WITHOUT child sponsorship but still by standing order.

Either way, just fill in the form and we'll be in touch — when we've had chance to check whether we currently have a child with no sponsor.

But first, a few key details...

The Cost

Minimum Child Sponsorship is currently £40/month paid by standing order.  If you can afford more than the minimum, that would be wonderful.  We ask all sponsors to Gift Aid their support if possible.  Sponsors also buy a Christmas present (eg £12-£25) taken out to their child by volunteers each January.

If you want to commit to less than £40/month, try finding friends or family to share the cost.  (Separate payments are fine.)  Occasionally, existing sponsors cannot keep up with inflation and a child may need part-sponsorship, so it is worth enquiring.  Or there’ s regular donation without  child sponsorship — meaning no named child to send a Christmas present to, but supporting some other important aspect of life at the orphanage.

The Rewards

Tangible rewards are:

• 1 or 2 photographs of the child – often one with your Christmas present, and another in their Sunday best, or at least not barefoot!
• A ‘thank you’ letter for your present – or, according to age, a picture, or endearing scribble!

Of course, the intangibles are far greater — whether or not you ever get to hug "your" child!
